TIPS FOR E-COMMERCE PAPER

If you gather information about ‘your’ company throughout the semester, writing your paper will be easier, and your paper will probably be better than if you wait until the end of the semester to do all your research. Below is a suggested timeline.

As we finish Module 1, identify the company you want to be the subject of your paper. What kind of company is it? Start to look at the rationale for its formation or its transformation from brick and mortar to e-commerce. What types of products and/or services does it offer? Why are these suited to e-commerce.
During or soon after completing Module 2, start making notes on the target market of the business. What are its marketing strategies? Do you think these are effective? Why or why not?
If you have chosen a company that is a different from than B2C, make notes of information that you feel is relevant to your paper, as we go through Module 3.
During or soon after completing Module 4, determine what the main security threats to the company are and the security measures that it use. Also, identify the companies distribution channels. Do you feel these are effective? Why or why not?
Finally, as we begin Module 5, gather information on the company’s main competitors and how it distinguishes its product(s) and/or service(s) from others on the market.
