Encounters with the Archdruid Celebration of Learning

Although David Brower is cast as the Archdruid in McPhee’s book, one could argue that Brower’s view of the natural world and its value has more in common with his three adversaries—Park, Fraser, and Dominy—than he might like to admit. Do you agree or disagree with this assertion? To what degree is Brower anthropocentric? To what degree does he articulate a truly different, more ecocentric vision?
