I am very interested in becoming a school psychologist. I would love to help youth evolve into productive adults. There is no better place to focus than with the future. To obtain this position one must have a Master’s degree and have some experience with youth. This is a growing field in today’s job market with a median income of about $80,000 a year in California where I live. To qualify for the position, not only is the Master’s required but you must also possess great people skills, communication skills, computer skills and patience. You must have a great listening ear an be able to compile as much data about each student as needed. I personally am already trying to gain the experience necessary to obtain a position like this one by working with autistic youth part time and finishing my graduate degree. I am hoping by networking like this I will be qualified for the position when school is over.
