Academic Writing

Final Assessment – Academic Writing
Students have two choices for completing the final project, which counts for 20% of the final grade.
Since this is the final written assignment for the course, students are expected to demonstrate competence in all the major topics and writing skills addressed throughout the course. Students must read the grading rubric for this project carefully and ensure that they fully understand the assessment criteria.
Project options include:
I. (Option 1): Write an academic summary based on a published academic paper (or portions of a book) dealing with a topic from the student’s field of study. The paper must be sourced from the ITESO Library, the sciencedirect.com open access or any other source. The original article must be submitted with the project (you may upload two separate files or one single file with both documents, the academic summary and the original research paper). In case you already have a published scientific article of your own, you may use it for this assignment.
