1. Prepare a specific topic of your choosing that is related to Canadian Foreign Policy and North American Relations. The idea is to examine a contemporary or historical topic and provide an analysis through the lenses of Canadian Foreign Policy. The topic proposal must scope-out a proposed topic for your final paper in two pages (double-spaced and including a preliminary bibliography – not part of the two pages).
2. Introduce and summarize the basic contours of the topic; tell the reader what you plan to research (outline your ‘Research Question’); and tell us why it is important.
3. Outline what you expect to find (and why) and offer an indication of how you plan to approach the research (theoretically and methodologically).
4. The preliminary bibliography should list at least 5-6 relevant academic sources. Proper academic citation is required.
