59. Canadian Identity
It can be an image of a place, a thing or an event. In your essay you should explain how your photo reveals features of Canadian identity. The question you should address in your essay is: How central is the Canadian state to definitions of Canadian identity?

At least one academic article dealing with Canadian identity (scholarly analysis). This should come from a scholarly journal such as the Journal of Canadian Studies, the Canadian Historical Review, the Canadian Journal of Political Science, or the Canadian Journal of Sociology, for instance. If you are not sure whether your choice is appropriate, be sure to talk to your tutor.At least one newspaper article dated between 1 September 2013 and 14 January 2014 on a theme relevant to this topic (journalism). You should append a copy of the newspaper article to your essay.
