Learning Reflection
In this assignment you will reflect on your key learnings throughout this semester. Everyone will write their own Learning
Reflection paper as a business report. You must follow proper and professional business writing and formatting guidelines. Include
the specified sections below. You must also include an introduction paragraph that sets the context of this paper and previews the
content, and a conclusion paragraph that summarizes the key points of the paper.
Formatting Guidelines:
1. Length: 4-5 single spaced pages (Times New Roman/Arial/Calibri 10-12 point font, .75 – 1 inch top & bottom margins) with a
carriage return between each paragraph and appropriate spacing between sections – be sure to format professionally.
2. Structure:
a. Header with your name, course title and section number, professor name and due date included at the top of each page.
b. Consistent, organized, clear format for bullets, spacing, font size, parallel construction.
c. Headings for each section to guide readers through report.
d. Bullets can organize your text but be sure to include enough text detailing information in your report and setting the
context for a bulleted list. A series of bullet points is not sufficient for this assignment.
e. Proofreading for grammatical, spelling, technical errors.
Sections to Include:
1. Introduction and Conclusion paragraph – include an introduction paragraph that sets the context of this paper and previews
the content, and a conclusion paragraph that summarizes the key points of the paper. Unlike the other 3 sections, you do not need a
heading for these two sections. Simply write the paragraph and then use headings for all other three sections below.
2. Career Field Overview – briefly give an overview of what career field and job(s) you are interested in:
a. Explain this field and job(s). Explain why you are interested and what you learned about it this semester.
b. Describe what you learned about your own skills for your career field and job(s), e.g. your Personality Assessment.
c. Describe what you learned from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and LinkedIn about your career field and job(s), including
descriptions of the field and job(s).
3. Networking – provide the following information on the Fordham Career Fair and two interview assignments:
a. Resume & Cover Letter Review: Include both your old and revised resume and cover letter (in the Appendix). In the text of
the report, provide contact details (name, title, organization, email), date of interview and a brief bio of the professional in
your career field with whom you reviewed your resume and cover letter. Explain why you chose them to review these documents,
followed by a summary of how and why you revised your resume and cover letter based on this review session with them.
b. Fordham Career Fair: Provide contact details (name, title, organization, email) of 3 people you networked with at this event
and describe what you learned from attending this event about networking and your career field.
c. Practitioner Interview: Provide contact details (name, title, organization, email), date of interview and a brief bio of the
person with whom you conducted your Practitioner Interview and describe what you learned about your field from this professional.
4. Reflection – be sure to include the following:
a. Describe the most important insights you gleaned from this class.
b. Explain the impact this class will have on you professionally.
c. What advice would you give future students taking this course?
• Two weeks after your last IP class (1) draft this report as a Word document following all guidelines above, and (2) upload a
