Definition of Barriers to Trade

International Trade facilitates various types of goods for domestic consumers thereby providing then an extensive choice to choose from. As the level of competition increases in the market, it reduces the cost of goods and provides a platform to the nations for importing and exporting the goods. Thus, it provides many advantages to consumers as well as the producers. But since it is not completely beneficial to all the groups of the society, free trade is not widely acceptable. Thus, this gives rise to the barriers on trade so as to protect the interest of some groups of the society
