Does the Apartheid in South Africa shape Hally to become racist?
The Apartheid in South Africa connects to Master Harold and the Boys and racism
because it made Hally look down on those who were close and actually cared about cared
about him. When Hally was little he was not racist, but grew up to become racist since society
accepts it. Throughout the book, Hally has an inner struggle of being his own person and what
society expects him to be.
