ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
Dionysus International, a British manufacturer established in 1880, today specialising in leather luxury goods, such as leather goods, accessories and perfume. Alexander Charles is a descendant of the founder and CEO. He has ambitions to expand the global presence of the company. He requires your expertise to investigate the financial issues and provide financial advice appropriate for the expansion.
YOU SHOULD:
a) Produce a 1500-200 word report.
b) Explore trends in purchasing power parity, the implied exchange rate and business implication of overvalued and undervalued products in your five countries (data provided).
c) Explore the business implications of triangular arbitrage, transferring £1,000,000 start-up fund to $ Dollar and € Euro then via another currency to the local five currencies.
d) Explore the business implication of CIA and UIA, using the 9 month forward rate, expected spot, money market interest rates and local deposit rates in your five countries (data provided).
e) You are required to track the monetary markets related to the five countries against the $ Dollar and € Euro for two week. Using Microsoft excel present and then discuss the business implications of the information.
f) On the basis of your analysis, advise Alexander Charles, CEO of Dionysus International, on which country is suitable for expansion, and provide financial advice appropriate for the expansion.
The data provided is for a historical prices of a classic leather handbag and historical spot rates, a 9 month forward rate, expected spot rates, annual money market interest rates and annual local deposit rates, all other exchange rates, you will need collect the data.
This assignment addresses learning outcomes for the module and will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the achievement of the learning outcomes in relation to the set questions. The learning outcomes for this assignment are:
