Task – 1 (35 Marks)
Choose any fire incident in a building , of your choice, that happened in the past and
write a case study keeping the following points in mind.
a) All possible details of the fire incident in the building mentioning introduction to
fire scenario, causes that led to the severe consequences etc.
b) The flaws/problems associated with means of escape. Also explain how
egress measures / evacuation concepts, if implemented, could have reduced
the severity of the fire incident
Task – 2 (20 Marks)
FED has become a useful tool in combustion toxicology for the calculation of
lethal toxic potencies from product analysis data.
Assume that in a reconstructed fire incident by a team Forensic Consultants
and Engineers has recorded the following toxic products for 30 minutes [table
1] exposure. You have to choose any four toxic concentration from the table.
Use the following formula
and calculate the FED and determine whether the fire victim is exposed to FED LC50
or not.
