Games
The aim of this research essay assignment is to allow you to investigate a specific area of Australian
media industries in more depth than we have covered it in the unit. This means that you will need to
conduct independent research using the library’s books, journals and databases. Importantly, you need
to go beyond what you can find out through Google search. Please seek assistance from library staff
early if you are unfamiliar with the research tools and processes. The research component will be
discussed and explained further in class.
This is an individual assignment. The finished work is to be presented in scholarly essay format of 1500 words (±
10%), with in ‐text referencing and a full list of references (using the Harvard referencing system). This essay
will contribute to 40% of the overall mark.
