First you need to analyse the global supply chain of the company through analysing both international and supply chain strategies, which will lead to examining the global supply chain in terms of 5 drivers: facilities, inventory, transportation, information and sourcing.
This should be followed by analysis of where this company (your coursework company) can extend their global supply chains to and how should they change their supply chain to meet the demands, needs and requirements of new location. To do this you need to analyse several locations by internationalisation theories, from which dunning eclectic paradigm and learning theories(Uppsala model,psychic distance) are considered to be the most important therefore compulsory but you need to choose one other from Venon’s product lifecycle, Porter’s diamond and network theories. Vernon’s product life cycle is not useful to all companies, especially this age of global business so please choose one of the other two.
Your report should end with a recommendation, which is a product of your analysis.
This coursework is mostly report style in general but particulars are in essay format, meaning the outer style with sections and references tables of content etc… is a report but within each section is an essay.

Coursework 1 select a real life company and analyse their international supply chain networks. This requires students to evaluate real life in the light of theories presented to them. This will ensure that they will be aware of strengths and weaknesses of these theories and how real life can be explained by using multiple of these. Then they will be asked to use the theories to give a supply chain network design change decision based on the decision making tools that they have learned.
