An influential NSW Government department is immediately looking for an experienced HR Manager, ideally with experience in workers compensation, WHS, HR policy and NSW Government procedures.
In this position you will be providing support to two senior Directors, overseeing a large and varied workforce. The successful applicant will also be responsible for preparing high level submissions and briefing notes for Government, updating management on progress of vital project work, conducting research and reporting as required and generally providing HR advice across a number of issues.
Within the role you will coordinate internal meetings, distribute information as needed, create lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders and continue to display excellent attention to detail.
To be successful in your application, you will ideally possess:
• Knowledge and information on a broad range of human resource issues.
• Strong consultation, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Well-developed written communication skills in preparing briefings, policies, management reports, correspondence and draft responses to representations.
• Ability to assist the Injury Management Co-ordinator or Rehabilitation Providers with the management of injured employee cases.
• Demonstrated experience and relevant technical expertise in providing a broad range of human resources services (including recruitment and selection; leave and entitlement matters; interface to payroll processes; workers compensation; staff establishment administration.)
• Ability to interpret and apply Acts, Regulations, Awards and Agreements.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to motivate
• Flexible, adaptable and a commitment to achieving results
• Able to work both independently and as a team member (with team members located on and off-site).
• Good computing skills including the use of database software, word processing and spreadsheets and human resources information system (HRIS).
• Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, staff development, performance management and the early identification of unacceptable workplace behaviours and taking appropriate action such as investigation, resolution and monitoring of harassment and bullying, grievance issues and conflict resolution.
• Outstanding creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills
• Advanced organizational skills
