How to Get Away with Murder and The Carmichael Show demonstrated the need and financial benefits of providing programming for wide-
array of audiences.
Watch one or more of these shows/episodes identified above and talk about the issues identified in the show(s) that might not have been
presented in other predominantly “white” TV shows/characters. Make sure that you identify the show(s) you watched. Also, discuss the
importance of having TV shows that represents a broader cross section for the US TV viewing public. Conversely, if you are watching
one of these shows, did they portray a positive image or did they use the stereotype image of the characters and how might that do
actual harm? How might these shows either increase or reduce prejudice and/or stereotypes?
