Information, Idea and Knowledge Governance Options

our teams consider the larger question of governance, and make recommendations to their clients at Vology as to how they should think about the top-down structure of their decision making about their data, information, ideas, knowledge, processes, and the tools and systems that help embody and enable those.

You and your team will need to use the various Group collaboration tools to get its jobs done, on time and on target.

Please review Team Collaboration Project for the overview, case study scenario, and activity details.

This week you apply what the various ideas we’ve been examining as to governance of information and knowledge by formulating a governance plan for Vology. This plan ought to address three main concerns:
1. How should Vology grow its knowledge, and the knowledge that its people have, so that it can continuously improve its processes and respond to (maybe even lead) what the marketplace needs and wants?
2. How should that knowledge and its managed growth be part of an overall information governance strategy, which would encompass all of Vology’s information systems and processes?
3. What does expanding the reach and use of social networking technologies, systems and applications suggest for Vology’s information and knowledge governance deliberations?

This last point is worth considering in a different way, perhaps: should Vology be seeing the various aspects of BYOD, Cloud and social networking as transformational opportunities to fundamentally change what they do and how they do it? Or are such tools and techniques “merely” incremental growths in capability, or fine-tuning aspects of their preexisting business processes?
