Mental pPaper Folding

Set A
Participant: Using the shaded area as the base, mentally fold together each cube in turn,
deciding as quickly as possible whether the two edges that are indicated by arrows meet or
don’t meet. If they meet, circle Y for ‘yes’ and if they don’t meet, circle N for ‘no’.
Experimenter: Record the time taken to make a decision for each cube in seconds and
fractions of a second. There are 8 cubes, 4 on this side and 4 on the reverse. When the tutor
has provided the correct answers at the end of the study, work out the average time to make
a correct decision for a cube in Set A (so discount the incorrect responses).
