You will identify the constitutional question(s) raised in the case, present both sides of the case and the Supreme Court’s decision, explain the Constitutional significance / how the decision changes American Law, and give your personal opinion on whether the case was correctly decided, and why or why not.
Your paper or presentation should contain at least 4 credible, scholarly sources, and should adhere to the Brandman’s plagiarism policy. –Please have these sources accessible from the internet or from our textbook:

Paper Topic:
The case I am proposing to write about in my final paper is Miller v. Alabama (2012) and Graham v. Florida (2010). This Supreme Court ruling is about the sentencing of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for juvenile offenders of non-homicidal crimes. They have since expanded that ruling to include murder charges.
My intent is to research the controversial subject and determine what the main factors were that influenced the Supreme Courts decision on the Miller v. Alabama (2012) and Graham v. Florida (2010) cases. Specifically, why did they rule life imprisonment was cruel and unusual punishment for murder charges? This case also addresses the eighth amendment, which I feel highly relates to the subject matter and this class.
