Is there a difference in detecting psychological distress disorders like depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder early in post-acute (MI) patients who complete a psychological questionnaire with a nurse before discharge and those who do not complete psychological questionnaire with a nurse before discharge?
The independent variable is psychological discharge questionnaire by nurse before discharge. The dependent variable is detecting psychological distress disorders such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder early in post-acute (MI) patients. Post-acute MI patients are times psychological distress disorders are under diagnosed in this patient population. It is also important to examine the associated factors which might favor greater distress such as (family history and number of MI etc)
