1. Suppose you are given four identical plants, placed in identical conditions (i.e., temperature, hours of light, intensity of light, etc). The only difference is

that each is bathed in a different wavelength of light (one in far-red = 745 nm; a second in red = 650 nm; a third in green = 545 nm; and the fourth in blue = 450 nm).

Make a prediction: which of these four will photosynthesize the most, which the least, and why? Finally, how might you measure this to make this determination

2. Enzymes have optimal conditions, including temperature. Most animals will seek warmer body temperatures to maximize body functions such as digestion, muscle

performance, etc. Endotherms (warm-blooded animals, such as you) function at consistently warmer temperatures than ectotherms (cold-blooded animals, such as frogs),

yet ectotherms function and survive just fine. Make a prediction: how might the optimal conditions of enzymes at work in endotherms differ from those in ectotherms?

Finally, how might you test your prediction?
