1. Using Trotsky and Nechayev as examples, assess the “character” of the non-state soldier in order to understand the “psychological terrain” of insurgencies. How do Leon Trotsky and Serge Nechayev exemplify insurgent character and behavior? How are they different, and is this difference important?

2. How does the Lord’s Resistance Army differ from other non-state soldier groups? How is it similar? (Feel free to use additional/outside sources on the LRA for this response.)
