Assessment Requirement
You are required to conduct a critical analysis of a Project Brief for a Wind Farm project to be delivered by the Unit Case Study Company – EcoNewWorld, and to develop Project Initiation Documentation for this project
As a minimum this Project Initiation Documentation (PID) should include all the contents required by the PRINCE2® methodology. Furthermore, the PID should include a significant level of detail (1500 words) on a choice of one of the following:
• A Quality Management Strategy
• A Risk Management Strategy
• A Communications Management Strategy
The critical analysis of the pre-prepared Project Brief should include the identification and analysis of what is missing and what needs to be added to ensure the Project Brief is fit for purpose. This analysis should draw upon the appropriate elements of P3M Best Practice and other relevant academic sources including relevant journals and references. The critical analysis can be provided as an appendix to the PID noting the 1000 word limit that applies to this element of the assessment
The PID should identify appropriate project management tools and techniques that you recommend are used on the project and discuss the rationale for these recommendations based on a critical analysis of relevant academic theory
The PID, including the critical analysis of the Project Brief should be developed in Word, and the style required is as follows: 1.5 spacing, Trebuchet MS 12 point, fully justified text, page numbering centre bottom, 3cm space on all sides. Use bold and 14 point for headings. Double return for new paragraphs, do not indent. The Harvard referencing system is to be used
