Write a paper (around 7-8 pages) in which you summarize the topic as
described in the review article and then explain how the supplementary
article has added to understanding of the topic based on the review
article. It should resemble the Discussion section of an experimental
article.
Specifically, you should:
a) summarize the whole topic as laid out in the review article
b) introduce the specific problem/issue the supplementary article
addresses
c) describe the specific experiments (methods and results) in the
supplementary article
d) critique the experiments: explain how well those experiments
have helped resolve the problem
e) present a conclusion in your own words about the state of
research on the topic
f) include a reference section of all the papers you used (APA
format)
g) Use a maximum of two direct quotations (zero is preferred)
Make sure the paper:
Contains no misspellings
Is grammatically correct
Avoids the first person – not: “I did something” instead: “Something
was done.”
Does not contain personal anecdotes or stories
Is not trying to be cute—this is no place for storytelling, only
reporting of facts
Uses almost no direct quotations (quotes are always a giveaway that you
don’t understand the material)
