Reading Reflection (Short Story)

46. Reading Reflection (Short Story)

US WRITER ONLY
The paper must be three pages in length (excluding the title and reference page), and formatted according to APA style
1. Select a literary work from list BELOW. Identify its title and author at the beginning and then explain what captured your interest. Why did you like it? Include some of the key terms that you wrote about in your earlier discussion post. Connect them to this literary work and show an example from the text, drawing a strong connection to the key term and its use/function in the story, poem, or play. 2.
Go to Chapter 16 of the textbook. At the bottom 16.2, you’ll see a header: Ways to Approach Literary Criticism. Below, you’ll find four criticisms: A. Reader-Response B. Formalist 4 C. Biographical/Historical D. Archetypal
Below each criticism is a list of bullet points. Answer the questions that you feel best relate to the work and plug in your own understanding/experience. Whatever you choose, please try to answer them in the order they are listed. You don’t have to answer every single bullet point, but I want well-thought out and developed answers instead of short, superficial responses. There are key terms and concepts that we haven’t addressed yet, such as theme and point of view under the Formalist Approach, so if you’d like to skip those, you’re welcome to. I wouldn’t want you writing about something that you don’t have a complete understanding of—but if you already have a good grasp of those and would like to write about them, I encourage you to go for it. Take a look at the example essay in the textbook (Chapter 16.3) for more of an idea on how to structure your paper:
