The Reflection section replaces a Recommendations section – the strategies contained in your report are all recommendations.
The discussion section must cover all four role areas so as to
demonstrate that you understand how each one contributes
to the marketing strategy for your destination.
The discussion of the marketing mix does NOT need to cover all 8 areas but can focus on a few select ones that have specific relevance to the chosen target market. However, you do need to acknowledge that there are 8 and explain why you are focusing on those selected.
Unlike typical business reports which include a
Recommendations section your report will instead include a Reflection section. This reflection should:
??critically reflect on groupwork processes and decisionmaking;
??evaluate whether appropriate choices were made by the team; and outline suggestions for more appropriate
strategies where need be It is NOT an opportunity to complain about fellow team members:
??Be constructive, not destructive
??In some cases, criticism may be warranted, but it
needs to be well-reasoned (i.e. supported with
evidence or valid arguments)
The report will be assessed on the quality of
presentation and research, the level of understanding
and insight, appropriate referencing and the depth of
the Reflection component. Remember:
(i) to express, in your own words, how each role area
contributes to the proposed destination marketing
strategy (ii) demonstrate how theory informs/influences each
role area Minimum 15 scholarly references (and supporting
material from industry, government and media)
