Purpose
This week’s Peer Exchange assignment is related to data collection. You will develop a Program Flowchart as illustrated in your readings on data information systems. This flowchart needs to address all areas indicated below.
Instructions:
You will create an actual flowchart so that you can discuss it and refer to it as your visual aid. In your video, discuss each aspect of the flowchart, where data is collected in the process (this could be several places), and types of analysis that can be completed with this data. Explain to your board members how you will use this data to make program-level decisions about services being provided and illustrate this with an example from your evaluation.
Discuss each of these in the video you create.
Your video presentation needs to include:
• A program flowchart for the program that has been evaluated.
• Each place where data collection happens on the flowchart.
• At least two types of analysis that can take place with this data.
• An explanation of how the data can be used for program-level decision making.
• An example of program-level decision making being guided by the data analysis from your evaluation

• Alex Scenario- Research Design
• The Children and Family Advocate Center is an agency that specializes in working with children and families to improve their quality of life. The goal of the Children and Family advocate center is to ensure the safety of all children facing abuse and neglect at the hands of their caregivers. The Strengthening Family Program (SFP) strives to obtain permanency for the children by working with families towards family reunification through extensive parenting classes.
• The agency in their attempt to offer quality services will be conducting a study on the SFP program. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of an extensive parenting curriculum on increasing parental knowledge and assessing parents’ attitudes about abusive behaviors. The question that the study will be evaluating is “Did the parents that completed the program gain knowledge and better attitudes about abusive behaviors?” They will take the Child Abuse Potential Inventory test before admission into the program as well as after they have completed the classes. The agency will use will utilize a one-group study design. One-group designs measure the participant’s success with an intervention after they leave the program time (Grinnell, Gabor & Unrau, 2016). A pre-test post-test experimental design will be used to compare the effectiveness of the parenting course intervention (The Strengthening Families Program). This design measures the dependent variables before and after the intervention (Rubin & Babbie, 2014). By using this design, researchers are able to measure differences in the same participants over time (Grinnell, Gabor & Unrau, 2016). The notation of this design is illustrated by the notation below where “O1” represents pretests, “O2” represents posttests and “X” represents the intervention:
• O1 X O2

• The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of intensive parenting courses on parents’ knowledge of child development, child abuse, and attitudes about abusive behaviours. In this study, a pre-test post-test experimental design is will be used to compare scores from the assessment. Gender may be used to determine whether male or female participants are more receptive to the intervention. This would be a nominal variable to measure attributes that are different in kind (Grinnell, Gabor & Unrau, 2016). The impact of gender on the assessment scores will be measured by comparing which group has a higher increase in score after the intervention. Another variable in the study is the age of the parent. The design will measure which age group showed the highest increase in scores following the intervention. Interval measurement will be valuable to assess the differences in age groups.

• Non-probability sampling methods are used in situations where it is desirable to limit or pick your data sources based on some unique characteristics (Grinnell, et al, 2012). Purposive sampling focuses on hand-pick subjects on the basis of specific characteristics (Grinnell, et al, 2012). The specific characteristics that this study will focus on are Hispanic clients and their unique needs. Hispanics are the fastest-growing population in the United States according to the U.S. Census Bureau (Rodriguez, 2013). The population continues to grow and it is essential to understand the culture, language, and their history. This sample will allow the study to focus directly on the Hispanic children and their needs to strive. It is imperative for the children to continue with their values and traits so they can have a better understanding of who they are and their learning style. Researchers believe that Hispanic students who speak English and Spanish need their educational programs to be explicit with both language and cultural integration (Rodriguez, 2013). This sample will help to explain why Hispanics are not receiving intervention well.
