Sophocles’ Oedipus the King and Antigone

Know “Oedipus the King” and its sequel “Antigone” by Sophocles.

– After you have read both plays, provide three (3) full pages of discussion specifically on the personal characteristics of Oedipus in Oedipus the King and Creon in Antigone (NOT Creon in Oedipus the King) that lead to each character’s downfall. Include an equal amount of discussion on both characters as well as both literary works. The length of your paper should be three (3) full pages with DOUBLE SPACING.

– In addition to your discussion on Oedipus in Oedipus the King and Creon in Antigone, select one point of criticism on each of the two characters from each source (to be posted soon) for this assignment. This means you must include a total of four (4) points of criticism. You MUST PARAPHRASE the information you borrow from the two sources. DO NOT QUOTE FROM THE CRITICAL SOURCES.
Include PARENTHETICAL DOCUMENTATION along with each of your four points of criticism. This ensures that the author of each borrowed idea will receive credit for his or her idea(s).
You may use Purdue OWL: MLA Formatting and Style Guide (online guide) to correctly document the sources in your paper. Right click below to access this source.
