The gap between rich and poor cause criminal?

Introduction
Reiman. A. J. and Leighton. P. (2015) wrote a book: “The rich get richer and the poor get prison.” Matthew effect explained why the rich people get rich, but is the poor people really more potential in jail.
This report hypothesis that the gap between rich and poor lead the poor people unwilling to living in the moment, more likely to commit crimes. The citizens living in 51 different states in U.S.A. will be examine that is there any relationship between poverty rate, Gini Coefficient and the people in jail.
The analyzed data “States facts.xlsx” is collected by Dr John Doyle. The USA State Population data is statistics data in June 2010, pending Official Year 2010 U.S. Census results and the other data from the table giving by Internetworldstats.com. Methods
To analysis the data, R, as an efficient tool, is needed.
Although, this report will analysis secondary data, there is no guarantee that there are no mistakes in the process of official statistics or hidden by government, we will treat this data as truth. For the report, hypothesis is that the gap between rich and poor lead the poor people hatred rich people. For the wealth, poor people try to commit crimes, and get into prison. Other reasons like political or religion divergence, revengeful murder and other variables will not be involved in this report.
Most of this report will illustrate by graphical evidence about each claim, followed by more formal hypothesis-testing procedures that examine to what extent the financial problem may cause a person to commit a crime. The exploratory / descriptive evidence not only guides our expectations, but also helps form our judgments about the most appropriate ways to analyse the data. We will also use regression tests throughout, first because they are more conservative, and second because it obviates the need for special case-by-case pleading.
