FINAL PROJECT:
In this assignment you will show how the past is inextricably linked to today.
You will create a PowerPoint presentation using Kaltura for this assignment.
You will select one (1) major idea/theme/philosophy from each of the discussed cultures or time periods during a particular week and provide a thorough description of the idea which you feel is the most significant and how it is still with us today.
1. Week 2: Ancient and Classical Greece and Republican and Imperial Rome
2. Week 3: The Crusades and Islam
3. Week 4: The Renaissance and Reformation
4. Week 5: Exploration and Empires
5. Week 6: The Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment

For example you would pick a significant idea/theme/philosophy developed by EITHER Greece OR Rome not one from both. Therefore, your project will cover what you feel are the five (5) most significant ideas presented from each week of the course.
Your presentation MUST fully explain the following:
1. What the chosen idea/theme/philosophy is.
2. The connection of your focus point to today.
3. Examples of your focus point seen today.
a. The focus point could be unchanged from when developed.
b. The focus point as it is seen today could be a linear progression from its creation to today.
c. The focus point could have contributed to the creation of something that is integral to our life today.
4. Level of importance to and integration in the contemporary world.

A chart has been provided which will help you organize your thoughts and ensure that all areas of the assignment are completed.
Additionally, you will also critique one (1) area of another student’s presentation. To do this you will select one of the ideas that have been presented and post your critique in the Week 7 Discussion Board. Your critique must cover the following points and include your views and evidence to support your views.
1. Determine if the definition and explanation of the idea is accurate and complete. (25 points)
2. The connections presented are clear and accurate. (25 points)
3. The examples provided in the presentation are the best possible, clearly explained and easily understood. (25 points)
4. The idea presented is significant and that significance is clearly shown. (25 points)

This assignment is worth 600 points.
• Each topic you present is worth 100 points for a total of 500 points.

e. An actual or representational image of the modern counterpart. (5 pts.)

4. Level of importance today (25 pts)
a. This will be your defense on why the chosen idea/theme/philosophy is more important than others from the same time period.
b. You may restate portions of earlier responses.
c. The majority of this part should include new information.
