In our readings Mead suggests that its is “through communication that we make object of ourselves”, Lakoff suggests “language is power”, and “we all are politicians”

and Saussure argued that “language is arbitrary” and meaning is convention”.

Using these three authors and one of your choice (I will attach the other one, Bauby) discuss what is meant by the idea that “the self is socially constructed”. How
