Consequently, their Equilibrium Prices, as determined the market forces of Demand and Supply are very high. So, a large part of the poor section remains deprived of these commodities. As a result, it becomes essential for the government to intervene and set the price to a level such that it becomes affordable for those sections. Price Ceiling prevents the prices from raising too much high.
