1. Identify a workflow process perceived as a breakdown in care within the nurse’s area of employment or the organization
that creates a safety issue.
2. Explain the safety issue and provide the rationale for why it impedes safety outcomes.
3. Using the drawing tools in Word, first diagram the workflow process of the safety issue.
4. Analyze the process. Consider ways it has stagnated and the steps to streamline the process.
5. Using the drawing tools in Word, draw the ideal process.
6. Consider ways to implement the change.
7. Discuss how to evaluate the change outcomes.
8. The scholarly paper should be not more than four (4) pages excluding the title and reference pages.
9. Include level 1 and level 2 headings, an introductory paragraph, purpose statement and a conclusion.
10. Write the paper in third person, not first person (meaning do not use ‘we’ or ‘I’).
11. Include a minimum of three (3) references from professional peer-reviewed nursing journals to support your paper.
References should be from scholarly peer-reviewed journals (review in Ulrich Periodical Directory) and be less than five
(5) years old.
12. APA format is required (attention to spelling/grammar, a title page, a reference page, and in-text citations).
13. Submit the assignment to Turnitin.com prior to your final submission to the assignment drop box by the posted due date.
