Throughout the Western world, voting rates have been dropping for major elections in recent decades. For example, 75-80% of eligible Canadian voters used to vote in federal elections. This rate is now nearing 60-65%. Young Canadian voters have a rate much lower than this.
1/ How can we motivate young Canadians to vote?
2/ Should voters be fined if they do not vote, as in Australia?
