Melbourne. The offices that your firm works from are disorganised and uncomfortable, and there have been a lot of complaints from staff. You
are brand newto the company and still learning. Your supervisor notes your past experience in interior design, and because you have no
legal casesto be responsible for, he asks if you could undertake a project of redesigning the office layouts. You are eager to make a good
impression, and immediately start making plansto redesign the office spaces, so your colleagues will have more ergonomic, comfortable, and
organised env ironments to work in.

Assessment Task 2 – Written Assessment

To demonstrate competence in this unit you will need to

showthat you can design and develop a project plan. Yourtask isto select an idea, improvement or opportunitythat could be applied in a
business operation. Describe the business and the project you might initiate. You will need to describe and define the prqject in context.
Explain why such a project would be beneficial. What procedures might you use to ensure that the projectwas sponsore bythe organisation?
Define the project, write a project narrative and develop a project plan, including the processesthat would be used to manage financial,
technical, human and physical resources.

In developing your project plan, consider:

1. Who are your project’s stakeholders?

2. What would your role be in planning and delivering the project?

3. How would you ensure that your project met organisational objectives?

4. What resources would you need and how would you source them?

5. Why should you and how would you consult with team members in the planning stage ofthe project and throughoutthe project’s implementation?

Assessment Task 3 – Project

This assessment should be carried out in groups ofthree to four.

You are required to particlipate at the SCEI annual Entrepreneur Day where the aim is to raise fundsfor the charity ofthe groups choice.
The aim of Entrepreneur ay isto raise awareness as well as funds for the charity of your choice and your stall should ex ibit relevant
information e.g. brochures, banners, etc about the charity you support.

You can offer any product or service of your choice and this

will take place on campus. Activities could include selling small handcrafted items, non permanenttattoo/ henna painting, etc and should
not be expensive to run. You should seek your assessor’s approval before starting the project. Your assessorwill let you know when
Entrepreneur Day will take place. You should ensure that all members in the group are aware ofthe budget and timeline and work toward
coméaleting the project successfully as well asthe legislation that may affect the project e.g. ethical principles, codes of practice,

The purpose ofthis assessment is to assess your abilityto manage a straightforward project. Every member ofthe

group should contribute toward the success ofthe project. At the end ofthe project, you are required to write a report with a minimum of
