Discussion
The Chief Information Officer submitted a preliminary proposal to the Board of Directors for the funding of a new EHR system, which is estimated to cost the hospital over $2,700,000 & will be implemented on roughly 300 work stations. The board approved the allocation of the funding and the IT manager, Sue Jones, will undertake the role of project manager. Currently, no formal project plan has been devised.

What steps should Sue Jones, as the project manager, take in managing this project?
As a Healthcare Administrator, how might you be involved in the implementation of this project?
What approach and tools are available to the project manager to help her succeed in this process?
From the perspective of a project manager, what types of problems may arise and how might Sue Jones avoid any these issues?

Please explain your rationale in detail.
