1) Prostitution

What would be the consequences for society if we could effectively halt the practice of prostitution? Should we do this even if we could? Could prostitution ever by organized such that it did not result in the exploitation of women?
2) Mexico’s Drug War
Read “A Global Glimpse: Mexico’s Drug War” in Chapter 4 of your text. In at least four paragraphs, prepare your discussion around the case questions:
What do you think can be done to solve this problem?
The drug violence is fuelled by a war over drug profits. Some suggest that we strike the problem at its root: If drugs were made legal, the profits would disappear over night. What social problems do you think legalization would produce?
