Guided Response: Review several of your colleagues’ posts and respond to at least two of your peers. In each response, provide an overall critique of your colleague’s program evaluation. Would the changes suggested make the program more effective? Why, or why not? Did your colleague propose any changes that you think are unnecessary based on the domains of development, accessibility, and/or cost issues present in the program? What additional changes to the program might you suggest to make it more effective? Continue to monitor the discussion forum until 5:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) on Day 7 of the week and respond to anyone who replies to your initial post

For the rest of the discussion I want to focus on just one of the many services that is offered to the military members. The service is the National Center for PTSD which is centrally in Virginia. The target population is the military members and this is a very appropriate program considering members of the military of every branch get deployed to war zones and come back with many symptoms of PTSD. This program helps these individuals cope with everyday life. The only reason I could see this program not being appropriate is if someone is wrongly diagnosed with PTSD and that’s what they’re being treated for. The center of this service is in Virginia but there are many programs all over the United States treating military members with PTSD. Even in the website there is a hospital/doctor locater to get counseling services. In this case the member seeking help with PTSD would most likely have to have health benefits which most veterans and military do have. This service cognitive and psychosocial domains of development because the counseling and assistance offered gives the client different ways to think and different ways to react to various situations in their everyday lives. I think they could offer the physical domain of development through research on how nutrition can also help with PTSD counseling and exercise. I don’t know if the program implementation is effective. I think they should make it where it is not a taboo subject. Many military members around here who suffer from PTSD are embarrassed to ask for help. I do feel like this service follows an ethical and moral code but I do think many of them that seek help slip through the cracks. They need to do a better job at following up with the clients after treatment and during.
