Dynamics of Qualitative and Quantitative Research

Identify an issue or problem that affects families and that is of interest to you. Examples of possible issues or problems include divorce, substance abuse, domestic violence, child abuse, poverty, and related issues or sub-issues.

Find two qualitative and two quantitative research articles—a total of four articles—that address your identified issue or problem as it relates to the family unit.

For the research described in each article: •Summarize the data collection and evaluation methods used in the research. •Explain how the various data collection and evaluation methods differ from one another. •Describe the advantages of using each research approach. •Evaluate the assumptions made in each study. •Describe any limitations inherent in the research design for each study.

Write up your findings in a paper that is at least five pages in length, not counting cover and reference pages. Begin by stating the issue or problem you selected. Use APA formatting and guidelines to cite your sources and report your findings.
