The division that I chose is the counseling psychology. Counseling Psychologists help clients with problems by looking at case history, interviewing and observing the patient and by providing avenues for outside therapy services if needed. To start the education requirements are that you would need a 4 year Bachelor’s degree but a Master’s or Doctorate is always favored. According to my research this career has a very bright outlook with median annual salary of clinical and counseling psychologists being $72,540 (Careers in Psychology, ND).
I live right outside of a military base in upstate New York and when considering that I would assume that they are plenty of opportunities in this area working with soldiers who may suffer from PTSD.
