Provide two, well written examples of how anthropology, in any of the subdisciplines we covered in class (cultural, biological, or
archaeological) affects policy-making or government operations in any nation. Provide the specific law, policy, or program that is either being
petitioned for or that is currently in use (law or program).
This can be anything from Native American appropriation laws to lands or archaeological materials, to the use of cultural anthropologists in
military terrain teams, or the use of biological anthropology in the study of disease and its relationship to ancestry. You can also discuss
how laws and policy-making affect state and federally operated museums. Students are encouraged to research avenues besides these examples. If
these particular examples are used, more specifics are required for full points.

2. This is an all or nothing assignment. If 2 complete examples are not provided, no points will be awarded for the assignment.
3. Provide specific: law, policy, or program in play in any particular government that either uses anthropological research or
anthropologists.
4. Example may be contemporary or historical
5. Provide brief background, actual law, policy, or program, and it’s affects after implementation or if only in a petition, how it would
affect a particular population.
