This exercise requires an audit of a carefully selected site which demonstrates the design of cycling -focused infrastructure. The audit will include description, review and comparison with guidelines and standards.
This assignment requires you to:
•Identify from your own observation one example of cycle-specific infrastructure;
•Describe your example, including a sketch, photographs or other illustrations;
•Compare your example with cases identified in the literature or good practice guidelines to demonstrate evidence of good practice in design;
•Provide a critical review including reference to design weaknesses and possible improvements.
The specific objectives of this coursework assignment are:
•To develop an awareness of transport engineering techniques and design issues which facilitate cycling;
•To develop powers of critical analysis in the context of design practice.

3 Output required
The submission must be in MSWord format and should not exceed 1800 words (excluding photographs, illustrations, appendices and references). There should be an appropriate report structure with numbered sections and headings. References should be listed and cited according to the Harvard convention.

NOTE
I think that there is a serious risk that you will fail this assessment if you choose to continue to present your audit based on this proposed design, rather than on an existing example of cycle infrastructure, as requested in the brief.
