Begin your search for a children’s story

Begin your search for a children’s story (appropriate for ages 4-13) that you would like to prepare and tell.
• The story time requirement is 4-6 min. You may find a story that you like that reads longer, but could be adapted/edited to the time requirement.
• Suggested Stories: Consider a story from Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Fairy Tales, one of the Jack tales, or stories by Hans Christian Anderson. Many of these are good stories for telling.
• Make sure it is not a story that everyone knows such as “Cinderella,” “The Three Pigs,” “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” or “Jack and the Bean Stalk.”
• Remember that not all stories that read well tell well. Can the story be adapted for telling?
Directions: Bring in a hard copy of the story to submit to the instructor for approval. The copy may be a Xeroxed copy or a typed copy. It cannot be in book form. (10 points of your children’s story grade)
