Journal Entry One: Ethical Culture – Current Event
This assignment along with the assigned reading will provide you with the ability to define what it takes to manage an ethics
and social responsibility in a global environment. This is an opportunity for you to apply what you have studied thus far to
real-world experiences based upon current events.
You can use magazines, newspapers, journals, library, and the internet to gather your information.
The videos (linked below) discuss how to lead businesses in an ever changing, dynamic environment. You’ll use the information
from these videos along with your assigned reading to answer the discussion questions. As you view the videos think about
your current organization (or past if you are not currently employed). How would you describe the culture, are they prepared
to manage ethics and social responsibility?

Identify a multinational company that is currently in the news. Study it’s website to see what you can learn about its
approach to global business ethics and social responsibility.
Answer the following question:
1. Do they have a global code of conduct, if so which core values were included?
2, Do they address behavior such as gift giving and nepotism?
