1) There are 5 repeating steps in the sourcing process. Each step has a set of deliverables (e.g.; commodity profile, industry profile, TCO elements, Porter’s 5 forces, selection criteria, willing and able scatter plot). Define the proper sequence of these deliverables and explain why it is important to develop the deliverables in their proper order. Also, explain what the impact would be if the deliverables were developed out of proper sequence.

23) Your company is considering the options on when to run a promotion. All factors must be considered, but what would be the impact to the rest of the organization if decisions were based on revenue only? What would be the impact to the rest of the organization if decisions were based only on level-loading the factory? What would be in the impact to the rest of the organization if decisions were based on no / zero outsourcing or subcontracting? Finally, what is the impact to the customer if decisions were based only on revenue or factory loading or zero outsourcing?

24) Define “Bullwhip” and explain why it occurs. Just as importantly, explain what strategies could / should be used to reduce the Bullwhip effect.
