In a working environment different routines are followed to perform tasks and usually none is documented. In an attempt to ensure consistent outcomes and to take advantage of possible improvements opportunities within a working environment, managers and/or employees need to oversee how work is performed.
Select a single medium size service (approx. 30 activities) provided in the place where you work if you are employed or in any working environment if you’re not employed to study these through BPM life cycle. You are expected to:
– Provide a background about the working place, the department, and the services it provide. Also identify its customer(s).
– Select a service and justify your choice.
– Identify the value it provides.
– Identify routine followed in the service.
– Design an as-is process model on the basis of the above identified routine.
– Analyse the as-is-model and justify your choice of the analysis technique(s).
– In the analysis, suggest possible improvements and discuss these with the employees.
– Suggest to-be process model based on the analysis results.
– Automate a process and present some screenshots.
Report:
 Structure the document to be used as a reference for management.
 Include a proper introduction and conclusion
 Include the transcript of all interviews you conduct (if any)
 The total number of pages expected is between 15 and 20 pages long with a single space and 12 point font size.
 Be selective in your references, avoid plagiarism, be consistent in the references style, and use professional English.
