The essay needs to relate the theories of motivation. This essay needs to consider the motivation theorists and financial and non-financial rewards.
Knowledge: Provide brief, background information on Virgin. Why did Branson want to test unlimited holidays?
Explain the motivation theories of Taylor, Mayo, Maslow and Herzberg. Define and explain financial and non-financial motivators.
Application – Essay must be related to Virgin Group. Current information should be used.
Analysis – How does Virgin motivate its workers? Consider the advantages and disadvantages of the idea. Relate it to the theorists. What alternatives could be introduced?
Evaluation – Do you think Virgin should introduce unlimited holidays? Base your judgement on the analysis provided in the essay.
A minimum of six sources should be used. Quotes and paraphrased work needs to be sourced and referenced. The Reference List must be in alphabetical order on the authors’ family (last) name.
