care credit vs pet insurance

The focus of my literature review, will be to discuss the history and rise of financially assistance for owners of companion animals. The focus of my topic will be the preference of CareCredit verse pet insurance.
After reviewing the UNC website, as it pertains to the literature review, I believe that my literature review will be a thematic focus. Though I would like to incorporate a chronological organization of the rise of pet insurance and CareCredit, since they were developed. In order to do this I will utilize the direct sources of each, there websites, and possible a representative, if I am able to contact one. This chronological method will encompass the first half of the body of my literature review.
While the second half will focus on a thematic method based on information that has been obtained through articles and reviews that have been posted in recent years. These resources primarily focus on the rise and benefits of CareCredit and pet insurance for pet owners who want to insure that they are able to medically care for their animals in any situation, preventative or emergency.

During these challenging economic times, financial assistance has become a crucial part of a sustainable lifestyle. From financial aid, loans (educational, auto, and home), along with employee benefits, these commodities allow individuals to live comfortably and attain necessary resources.  Over the last couple of years this concept has made its way into the veterinary health field, providing pet owners with several options to fund required medical expenses, from Care Credit to a variety of pet insurances. With all these available options, which is the best option? In an emergency situation, which choice will be more beneficial to the owner financially?
In times of financial distress that are accompanied by emergency medical care for an individual’s companion animal, a crucial factor is deciding which financial assistance program will be the most beneficial. Between Care Credit and pet insurance, the study will compare both services side by side and from the perspective of consumers in the Tamp Bay area, to determine which option will be a more suitable option to cover emergency expenses. Through extensive research of each institution, along with a survey of clientele who utilize these services, I will determine the optimal decision for coverage, when faced with an unexpected veterinary expense.
