Below is the instructions for the case study.

This assessment task enables you to choose one of four case studies to review. These case studies will be available to you in MyLO. Once you have chosen a case you will be required to
– Consider the patient situation.
– Collects cues and information demonstrating advanced clinical assessment and problem solving skills to identify physiological alterations in condition. Consider other clinical investigations that maybe required;
– Process the information demonstrating knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology and how it applies to the clinical condition;
– Identify issues that could lead to clinical deterioration;
– Establish goals of care including diagnosis and treatment options.
You will be able to gather more information for your chosen case at the beginning of each module. The information, which relates to the module, will give you cues that you can incorporate into your clinical reasoning with your case.
Use a minimum of 15 scholarly references to support your discussion themes ensuring that you correctly reference your work.

Assessment criteria
Demonstrates advanced clinical assessment and problem solving skills to identify physiological alterations in condition;
Comprehensively describes and relates the relevant anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to the patients clinical condition and assessment findings;
Critically analyses the goals of care for the patient in the acute care setting;
Appropriate academic written expression including referring to academic literature and references appropriately using modified Harvard style as required by the School of Health Sciences.
