You are required to research, select and report on a real documented crime scene from any source or database (recommended: Australian Policing Journal, other peer reviewed journals etc). Identify TWO Non-Biological evidence types located at the scene. You are to develop a written report which includes: 1. A brief summary of the case not exceeding 300 words. Please reference the source “Harvard” style. 2. Identify the TWO types of non-biological evidence located at the scene. 3. What are the underpinning principles of each evidence type? 4. How was it detected, collected (packaged/preserved) and analysed? (If the case study does not explain this process, how would YOU ordinarily do this?) 5. Clarify the limitations of the techniques. 6. With reference to your organisational SOPS, briefly discuss any major differences currently practiced in your organisation in the detection, collection and analysis of these evidence types against the case study. 7. How would you suggest the outcomes of these non-biological evidence types be presented in court? 8. Appropriate referencing using “Harvard” style referencing. A comprehensive use of current primary references including a minimum of ten (10) reference journals “five of which are “peer reviewed journals”. ie. Australian Police Journal or similar” MARKING: Demonstrates understanding of advanced detection, collection (packaging/preserving) and analysis of non-biological evidence types including the underpinning principles and presentation of outcomes in court
