Dividing waters
Different practice and theology of water-baptism have historically been a major reason for new churches to emerge. And still this is a main factor for division in the body of Christ. This essay should describe and discuss different New-Testamental perspectives of the practice and meaning of water- baptism and show how these relate to different churches today. Special interest should be paid to baptism of infants and the relation between water-baptism and Spirit-baptism. The last part of the essay have to deal with the issue how the church you are familiar to should respond to Christians from other Church-traditions in the best manner, both having the unity in Christ and passion for truth in mind.
